November 1st already! That means winter is almost here. (insert unhappy sigh) We are nowhere near ready for the white stuff that keeps showing up around the US but I know its destined to show up here sooner or later.
Richard is keeping very busy with custom combining, they seem to pick up more acres every week. It has been a long, hard fall for the guys. With corn silage starting in the middle of August Richard has been on the go non stop and and I can see the stress and fatigue taking its toll on him. I guess I am ready for winter or at least the part where Richard is home earlier to eat super with us and play with Cashden. I know Cashden misses his daddy because when Richard picks him up or plays with him Cashden clings to him and very seldom wants anything to do with me. Once Daddy is gone Cashden will stand by the door and call out "Daddy!" while waving bye.
I am working away at FFC yet and my days are a little longer and Saturdays are becoming common work days again with the fall fertilizer going out the door. I am hoping this is a big fall because that always makes spring just a microscopic bit easier (not enough to count really) just enough to make me keep a few strands of hair instead of going completely bald and crazy. I am finding it hard to balance the work routine with home time and I miss Cashden very much especially when I work late because I only see him for about 45 minutes in the mornings. This stress has led me to keep an open eye for a new job that would be a little more "family friendly".
So, on to more interesting things... Cashden turned 1 on October 20th!!!! I can't believe my "little bug" is one already! Could someone please inform us as to where the last year went? Cash is walking (almost running), and saying more new words and sounds all the time. I love seeing him grow and develop new skills. He is very observant and learns a lot by watching the older kids at daycare then when they are done he will repeat or try whatever it was they were doing and usually with some or complete success. So, you will now catch him problem solving his way to climb up onto the coffee table or couch or whatever it is he wants on top of.
I will leave you for now with this little bit of wisdom:)
5 things I have learned real quickly since the walking stage began:
1. Bumps and bruises will happen in the blink of an eye
2. Most times if I laugh instead of gasp the crying stops quickly so he can giggle with mommy
3. He knows how to work the mommy system (the daddy system is a little more tough to crack).
4. He does have a bit of Mommy's temper and "melt downs" have been experienced.
5. He can now reach the paper on top of the desk and he will eat it!!! (I am waiting for the paper filled diaper.)
